Dr. Steven Ambrose

Dr. Steven Ambrose is an experienced general practitioner whose primary interest is in dermatology and internal medicine.  He graduated from Louisiana State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  He enjoys hunting, fishing and taking care of his four cats.  Dr. Ambrose works at the Hillcrest Animal Hospital located at 6207 Stage Road in Memphis, TN 38134. . 

Dr. Maben Thompson

Dr. Maben Thompson is a 1980 graduate of the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine. The native of Hartsville, TN graduated high school from Battle Ground Academy in Franklin. In an effort to stay in Middle Tennessee he took his first job at Copeland Veterinary Hospital in Cookeville, then a year later moved to Crossville where he has remained. He is the owner of Upper Cumberland Veterinary Clinic, a mixed animal practice with two associates. Dr. Thompson, wife Julie, son Cameron, and daughter Jordan are active in the National Cutting Horse Association, and run a beef cattle operation.

  Dr. Joe Ed Conn

Dr. Joe Ed Conn graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991.  A native of Nashville, he received a BS in Animal and Dairy Science in 1987 (also from Auburn).  For the past 14 years, Dr. Conn has practiced small animal medicine and surgery at Belle Meade Animal Hospital in Nashville.  Prior to that, he practiced at Goodlettsville Animal Hospital in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.  Dr. Conn lives in Whites Creek with his wife Michelle, son Ethan, and two dogs, two cats, three horses, one guinea pig, and 8 chickens. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening and hunting and farming on family property in Kentucky.  He has led a veterinary team on medical mission trips to Honduras twice in the last three years.



Dr. Susan Moon

Dr. Susan Moon practices small animal medicine in Memphis, TN. A native of Jonesboro, AR, she graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Her career began at Brooks Road Animal Hospital in Memphis upon graduation, and she purchased the practice in 1990. Dr. Moon is a member of the AVMA, the TVMA, and the Memphis and Shelby County VMA. She is active in her church, First Baptist of Memphis. Dr. Moon and her husband, Mark Weaver, an architect, have three children and two grandchildren.



Dr. Russell Reel

Dr. Russell Reel is a small and large animal veterinarian.  He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Class of 2007 and currently serves as the alumni representative for his graduating class.  He currently works for Blue Ridge Veterinary Services and Morristown Animal Hospital in which he is a partner in the practice.





Dr. Kristi Lively

Dr. Lively is a 1994 graduate of Vanderbilt University, having majored in Molecular Biology. She was in the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine Class of ’99 where she graduated with honors in the top tier of her class. After vet school, she completed a competitive internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She was elected as Tennessee's New Graduate Representative for the AVMA's annual Leadership Conference. In 2005 she successfully achieved status as a Diplomat for the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, specializing in Canine and Feline practice. In 2006, she was recognized as the TVMA’s Young Veterinarian of the Year. Most recently, she was awarded the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine’s First Decade of Achievement award. Dr. Lively currently serves as a Board Member to the Young-Williams Animal Center, and is a past board member for the Companion Animal Initiative in Tennessee. She is also an active member of the Society for Theriogenology, the Knoxville Veterinary Medical Association, the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society,  and the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association Peer Review Committee. Dr. Lively has served as president of the Knoxville Veterinary Medical Association. Her primary professional interests include senior pet care, critical care, pain management, reproductive medicine and endocrinology.


Dr. Leland Davis


Dr. Lauren Olavessen

Dr. Lauren Olavessen has a Bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences from the University of Northern Colorado, in Greeley, CO.  She obtained her DVM from the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, TN, in 2002.  From there, she took a position as an Associate Veterinarian in Memphis, TN from May 2002 through December 2006.  In January 2007, she joined Merial Limited as the Delta District’s Technical Services Veterinarian where she remains to this day.

Her association memberships include the AVMA, TVMA, MSCVMA, AAVP, and the American Heartworm Society.  She currently serves as the Vice President of Continuing Education for the Memphis/Shelby Country VMA.  She also serves as President on the Executive Board for the Veterinary Leadership Institute which hosts the Veterinary Leadership Experience every June in Post Falls, Idaho.



Dr. John Zavaro



Dr. Mandy Hagan Willis

Dr. Willis grew up on a farm in west central Kentucky and graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterianry Medicine in 2005. She has a large animal practice which consists of ambulatory and haul-in facilities.  Dr. Willis's passion is working with farm animals and with the people that own them and she thouroughly promotes Rural Veterinary Medicine and the rural way of life. Her practice is at 244 Finger Bluff Rd Morrison, TN  37357.
